**A New iPhone Enters the Fold: Preorder iPhone Duo at RedPocket Starting October 16**
Apple has introduced iPhone Duo, the first foldable iPhone, and RedPocket customers will be able to preorder it beginning 5:00am PDT, Friday, October 16. Apple’s CEO John Ternus called it “the most transformational change to iPhone since the original.” Here is a first look at what sets iPhone Duo apart, and why RedPocket Mobile gives you more freedom in how you use it.
**Two displays, one breakthrough design**
iPhone Duo has two Super Retina XDR displays with the same aspect ratio, so the experience stays consistent whether the device is open or closed. When closed, it is easy to use with one hand and fits in a pocket. The 5.4-inch outer display provides 90 percent of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro. When opened, the 7.6-inch inner display is 50 percent larger than iPhone 18 Pro Max.¹ That makes it the largest display ever on iPhone, and it is also the thinnest iPhone Apple has made. A nano-texture finish cuts down on glare and reflections and makes the crease less visible. Both displays support ProMotion, Always On, and peak outdoor brightness of up to 3000 nits.
**Built to last**
iPhone Duo is made from grade 5 titanium with a mirror-polished finish, and its hinge uses more than 100 components to control opening and closing and to support the center of the display. Ceramic Shield protects the back. Ceramic Shield 2 on the front offers three times the scratch resistance of the previous generation, and the device is rated IP68 for splash, water, and dust resistance.²
**A camera system made for the fold**
The 48MP Fusion Main camera includes an optical-quality 2x Telephoto, and the 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera is the same one used on iPhone 18 Pro models. The folding design also allows camera features that no other iPhone can offer. Duo Preview shows the live shot on the outer display, so the people being photographed can check their framing. Kid Cue plays Peanuts animations on the outer display to get children to look at the camera. Smart Take uses on-device AI to capture the photo automatically when everyone is posing. Duo FaceTime lets people standing with you join a video call through the outer display, so nobody has to crowd around one screen.
**More you can do on a larger screen**
iOS 27 has been adapted for iPhone Duo, and Split View lets you run two apps side by side on iPhone for the first time. StandBy also works differently: when you set iPhone Duo down, it can show a clock, photo frame, or widgets on either display, even when it is not charging. iPhone Duo runs on A20 Pro, the same chip as the iPhone 18 Pro models. With a custom vapor chamber, it delivers up to 35 percent better sustained performance than iPhone 17 Pro. It also gives you access to Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, a completely new version of Siri that is rolling out in beta.³ There is one battery on each side of the device, and together they provide up to 24 hours of use per charge when both displays are used equally.⁴
